The CariBeat Philosophy

CariBeat is a movement, a vibration, an energy - an expression of the unique power that radiates when Caribbean music, people and food merge outside of the boundaries of the Caribbean Sea.

The brainchild of businessman, Luis V. McSween, CariBeat began with a deep urge to move Caribbean culture outside of its comfort zone. A national of Trinidad and Tobago, who had resided in the US for more than 25 years, Luis observed that Caribbean culture was being “reserved” for the Caribbean Diaspora and that Caribbean music, restaurants, festivals and other expressions of culture were being promoted solely to a niche market of natives from the region.

Luis felt that it was now time to shift the paradigm – that Caribbean culture must be integrated into world culture and the only way do so was through mass-marketed cultural expression and exposure – thus CariBeat was born.

What began as an urging of spirit is now a thriving business enterprise comprising many facets of Caribbean expression – Caribbean-Style Events, Caribbean-Fusion Catering, and Caribbean-Creative Business Solutions.

CariBeat’s clientele includes governments, private sector companies and individuals who require a Caribbean flair to a best-in-class event. From Carnivals and international music festivals to black-tie galas and corporate awards dinners, CariBeat has successfully integrated Caribbean flavor into the highest echelon of events globally.
